PAPER PACKAGING
All paper packaging is made from paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), which ensures that the paper comes from responsibly managed forests and verified sources. In addition to this, packaging specifics can vary from product to product.
For example, fragile items like jewelry or home goods are packed in boxes crafted from FSC-certified paper and include a velvet (polyester) cushion to protect the product. In the future, KARL LAGERFELD aims to replace the polyester with a recycled material alternative.
Select items are delivered in a keepsake box, which is designed to be kept as a collector’s item and to safely store the product when not in use. All dustbags are made from 100% organic cotton.
PLASTIC PACKAGING
All polybags that are used for protection during transport are made from 100% recycled plastic. Swimwear is packaged in recycled plastic zip bags that can be re-used to store your bathing suit, or as handy storage while traveling.
COMPLIANCE
All KARL LAGERFELD packaging items meet EU requirements regarding hazardous chemicals, and KARL LAGERFELD adheres to the AFIRM Packaging Restricted Substances list.
KARL LAGERFELD encourages all customers to recycle packaging following the rules of their respective municipality. It’s advisable to make the packaging as small as possible before recycling.
