A PASSION FOR ACTIVISM
Growing up in Oklahoma, Amber spent her childhood playing in nature. She remembers developing a reverence for the natural world with a deep appreciation for it. “As a young girl, I saw my mom use her voice to protect our community, which instilled in me a sense of activism,” she recalls. Since then, Amber has harnessed this passion to launch and participate in various initiatives to make actionable change, often related to her profession in the fashion industry. “More than a decade ago, I started to feel a big disconnect in fashion,” she explains. “As I began to look into it, what I saw was very concerning, and I could no longer stay quiet. I started actively using my platform to bring awareness and help move the needle to make our industry better for people and the planet.”
FASHION FOR THE FUTURE
Focused on the power of collaboration, Amber strives to bring different people and perspectives together to drive positive change in her field of expertise.
“The fashion industry is one of the largest and most important industries on the planet and has the opportunity to be a real game-changer in solving the [climate] crisis,” she says, adding that time is of the essence. “Fashion could lead the way with its creativity and innovation — if we act now.”
By joining forces with the Maison KARL LAGERFELD, Amber is able to share her knowledge while guiding the company in its ongoing journey. “It’s exciting and inspiring to work with KARL LAGERFELD and help them create the company’s next iteration. I get to witness them make a shift into a new way of thinking.”
